The story of the Fairy Tale Princess Wreaths

Many years ago when I working full time for Kaleidoscope Theatre, a Rhode Island based traveling children's theatre company, I designed my first wreath.  At the time, I was playing the part of Beauty's sister in our musical version of the original story of "Beauty and the Beast".  In our play, Beauty's father comes home from the sea with a gift of flowers for his beautiful daughter.  I thought that the little girls in our audiences would love to have a wreath of their own but felt it would be too hard to travel with fragile floral wreaths.

So I scoured the fabric stores and my imagination and ultimately designed my first Fairy Tale Princess Wreath.  All our female characters - Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White, Alice and Goldilocks - wore one of my wreaths and they took off!   Before long, over 20,000 were sold.  I even took them to Disney who told me if I had been a year earlier, they would have drawn them on their Beauty and the Beast!

But years went by with other adventures in my life and the wreaths were put aside.  As a high school teacher, I developed Strategies for Success, an anti-bullying leadership/success program for teens, and my life revolved around finding the tools that would allow then to not only survive but thrive.  But I always kept my love of theatre alive.  I returned to the theatre company first as the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella and then as the teacher in a play I helped write - "High School BULLY" which used lessons from my Strategies program.

But being back in theatre, I knew it was time to bring the wreaths back...handmade by the Fairy Godmother and her cousin.  We renamed ourselves the Fairy Godsisters - the Fairy Queen of Good Deeds (Me) and the Fairy Queen of Sparkles (my cousin Val).

We hope you enjoy our Fairy Tale Princess Wreaths!
